Positioned at the water’s edge, this restored Cremorne boathouse was designed as a relaxed and playful extension of the main residence.
A classic blue and white palette introduces a lighter coastal character, balanced by considered detailing and practical functionality for entertaining.
Significant structural works, including the rebuilding of the seawall and jetty, transformed the space both visually and physically.
The finished boathouse feels nostalgic, inviting, and deeply connected to its waterfront setting.
Set directly on the water’s edge, the Cremorne boathouse formed part of a broader residential project. The opportunity was to create a secondary space that felt distinct from the main home, with the primary residence leaning toward a refined coastal palette, the boathouse offered room for a different expression. A classic blue and white scheme was introduced, allowing the space to feel informal and inviting, while still aligned with the overall property.
The transformation extended well beyond surface detail.
Significant structural works were undertaken, including lifting the entire boathouse to pour new concrete supports, alongside the reconstruction of the seawall and jetty. Access and logistics required careful coordination, with materials and equipment brought in by barge.
The exterior was refreshed in Colorbond Deep Ocean, grounding the structure against its coastal setting
The finished boathouse feels nostalgic, inviting, and deeply connected to its waterfront setting.
Arrange a consult
Before any project begins, I like to spend time in the space with you.
We walk through your home together room by room, talking through what’s working, what isn’t, and how the home could function and feel differently.
Often, the best ideas come from these early conversations.
The consultation is collaborative, practical, and full of useful direction from the outset.
